Nutrition Services
Nutrition Links
If you've ever searched the web information about a nutrition-related topic, you know that there is an endless array of information available. While there is a great deal of reliable information out there, unfortunately, there is also a great deal of bogus information that is not supported by current health and nutrition research. Here are some tips to help you evaluate the quality of websites:
- Know who is sponsoring or authoring the web page. Many Internet sites are simply designed to sell products - articles and other information on the site can be skewed to promote their products. Web addresses ending in .org or .gov are typically more reliable than .com sites.
- Review the authors' credentials and references. Does the author have a degree in the field they are addressing? Does he or she list credible references, such as research studies from well-known scientific journals? If not, be wary of the information presented.
The sites listed here provide well-researched information that is presented by experts in health and nutrition. Check them out!
